Driver arrested following chase on Saturday
STANTON — The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Saturday a 29-year-old Norfolk man who allegedly was intoxicated after he was clocked speeding at 99 mph in the 70 mph zone on Highway 275, just east of Norfolk.
The driver, in a pickup headed east, attempted to flee north onto a county road at about 6 p.m. Saturday and then entered private property. His vehicle became disabled after nearly driving off a large dirt embankment, said Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger.
Joshua Deiterman was arrested on charges of speeding, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest.
He was jailed pending the posting of a bond and a passenger was cited for an alcohol violation, Unger said.
