United Way chili cookoff Saturday in Sterling
STERLING – For tasters, United Way of Whiteside County’s Chili Cook Off begins at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot at the corner of East Fourth Street and First Avenue.
For cooks, the site opens for set-up at 7, a chef meeting will be at 8:30, with judging at 11 a.m..
Winners will be announced at 1 p.m. First- through third-place awards will go to best chili; People’s choice, best charity chili, and best camp site winners also will be named.
There also will be a 50-50 drawing, a charity challenge and children’s activities.
Chili tasting tickets cost $5 each.
