AUCKLAND, New Zealand (AP) — Scrumhalf Henry Taylor and winger Nathan Earle scored two tries each as defending champion England beat Australia 38-24 on Friday to take control of Pool A at rugby’s Junior World Cup.
Taylor scored in the 12th and 18th minutes and Earle in the 31st and 62nd as England scored five tries to take its second straight bonus-point victory. Winger Andrew Kellaway scored two of Australia’s three tries.
South Africa, the 2012 champion, beat New Zealand 33-24 in a pivotal clash in Pool C, scoring a late try through Warrick Gellant for their second bonus point win. Flyhalf Hande Pollard scored a try among 18 points for South Africa while winger Tevita Li scored a hat trick for New Zealand.
Ireland beat Wales 35-21 and France beat Fiji 37-5.
