Packers Release Ticket Stats
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) _ About 95 percent of Packers season-ticket holders chose to pay a steep user fee to renew their tickets and help finance the $295 million Lambeau Field renovation.
Around 6,920 season tickets were returned and will be distributed to some of the 56,000 people on the Packers’ waiting list, said Mark Wagner, the team’s ticket director. He said he expected around 1,700 people to come off the waiting list, based on an average of four requests per person.
It’s the largest number to come off the 1960s-era waiting list in years. In recent years, only about five names a season have moved off of it because so few season tickets are surrendered each year.
The Packers required all season ticket-holders of the Green Bay package of seven games to pay a one-time fee of $1,400 per ticket for the right to keep them. Holders of the Milwaukee package of tickets for three games had to pay $600 per ticket.
The Milwaukee package is for fans who had season tickets for several games formerly held each year at the old Milwaukee County Stadium.
All Packers games since 1960 have been sold out on a season-ticket basis, meaning no tickets are ever available through ticket windows on game days.
