Flooding worries raised after rain in South Carolina county
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Officials in one South Carolina county say they’re keeping a close watch for flooding in an area that has seen continued rain in recent days.
WCSC-TV reports that some low-lying areas along the Ashley River in Dorchester County have seen localized flooding over the past week.
Dorchester County spokeswoman Tiffany Norton says the county’s fire and rescue service has prepositioned crews and equipment as needed. Residents who need to leave home because of flood water concerns are being asked to call the county’s dispatch center.
