WVC BASEBALL ROUNDUP: Black Knights Shut The Door On Dallas

Dallas was in position to steal the win, but Alex Magdalinski wouldn’t let it happen.

The Lake-Lehman pitcher left the tying run at third and the potential game-winning run at second in the bottom of the seventh as Lake-Lehman held on to defeat Dallas, 7-6 on Thursday.

Magdalinski picked up the save after winning pitcher Nick Finarelli pitched 4⅔ innings of relief. Max Paczewski had three hits for Lake-Lehman, while CJ Cercone singled, doubled and drove in two. Connor Morgan also had two hits.

Jake Connolly had three hits for Dallas, including a double and triple. Darren Kerdesky homered, while Beaudyn Lewis had two hits, one of them a triple.

Hanover Area scored five runs in the top of the fifth and sixth innings, and the Hawkeyes finished with eight doubles in a win at GAR.

Kevin Polanco and Auggie George each had four hits for Hanover Area. Todd Kolbicka had three hits, two of them doubles, and scored three runs.

Kolbicka struck out seven over 4⅔ innings to get the win.

Holy Redeemer scored six runs in the top of the fifth inning to erase a one-run deficit as the Royals closed the regular season with four wins in their last five games.

Cameron Krugel had two hits and drove in two runs for Holy Redeemer, while David Wickiser and Jacob Roguskie each doubled. Tyler Hoedl pitched three innings of relief to get the win.

Marcus Danchision had three hits inlcuding a double for MMI Prep. Marcus Kassick and Kevin McNulty each doubled while Colin Williams had an RBI.

Colby Jones allowed one hit over five innings with eight strikeouts to get the win, and Stew Caladie and Mike Geroski each had a double and drove in two as Crestwood extended its winning streak to six.

Crestwood scored three in the bottom of the fifth and two more in the sixth to open the game up. Mike Palmiero and Brad Papura each scored two runs for the Comets.

Curtis Gregory had a double for Northwest, while Tommy Antolik had a single and run scored. Nick Wilson had an RBI.
