No injuries reported after bricks fall from building facade
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Authorities in western Pennsylvania say no injuries were reported after a cascade of bricks fell from the facade of a Pittsburgh building.
Emergency responders were called to the Perry South neighborhood on the city’s North Side at about 10:20 a.m. Monday after bricks from the front facade plummeted to the ground.
City spokesman Chris Togneri said despite the damage, city inspectors said the building was structurally sound. Tenants will be allowed to remain in the six-unit apartment building but will have to use a rear entrance.
One car was damaged. Togneri said officials don’t know whether high winds in the region were a factor in the collapse.
