Lipscomb beats D-II Oakland City 96-69
OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — J.C. Hampton made four of Lipscomb’s 14 3-pointers and finished with 21 points to help the Bisons beat Oakland City 96-69 on Tuesday night.
Hampton scored 10 straight Lipscomb points in second half, including back-to-back 3-pointers, to build an 84-57 lead with 6:21 left.
Eli Pepper added 12 points for Lipscomb (2-2) and Josh Williams 11. Williams made three 3-pointers as eight different Lipscomb players made a shot from distance. The Bisons made 33 of 61 shots (54 percent), including 14 of 28 3-pointers.
Hampton also scored 21 in Lipscomb’s loss against Denver on Sunday. The Bisons open the season with seven games in 10 days.
Jonathan Sulak led Oakland City, a Division II member, with 27 points. Addison Wagler added 16 points and Matt Lucas 12.
