Mass. police officer pleads guilty to raping teen
WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A 44-year-old North Brookfield police officer has been sentenced to serve 3 1/2 years in jail after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.
Adam Kachadoorian was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to charges including child rape and distribution of obscene matter for sending the girl a sexually explicit photo. A charge of child rape aggravated by age difference was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
The prosecutor said the assault occurred in October 2011 at the victim’s home.
Kachadoorian was placed on administrative leave after being charged. He was also ordered to surrender his weapons as a condition of his release on $1,000 cash bail.
The Telegram & Gazette (http://bit.ly/18fp9t0 ) reports that Kachadoorian’s lawyer called the assault an “aberration,” and said his client is remorseful.
