Michigan man charged in punch outside downtown Cleveland hotel that left Wisconsin man with brain bleed

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Michigan man is charged in connection with a violent attack outside a downtown Cleveland hotel that left a Wisconsin man with head injuries that caused bleeding on his brain and required surgery to remove part of his skull, according to police.

Kaino Jacinto, 26, of Galesburg, Michigan, is charged with felonious assault. He is not in police custody and a warrant was issued Thursday for his arrest.

The incident happened about 3:45 a.m. Sept. 16 outside the Hilton Garden in on Carnegie Avenue.

Jacinto and a 37-year-old Milwaukee man argued inside the hotel, according to police reports. The Milwaukee man walked outside the hotel.

Witnesses told police a man, later identified as Jacinto, punched the man in the head, knocking him unconscious, according to police reports.

Officers arrived and found the man unconscious and covered in vomit on the sidewalk outside the hotel, according to police reports.

Officers noted that it appeared the man suffered “very severe” injuries. The man was taken to MetroHealth, where doctors detected bleeding on the man’s brain and damage to the back of his skull, according to police.

The man needed emergency surgery to remove part of his skill, according to court records.
