Grand jury will convene next month to consider Scottsbluff man’s death in custody
A grand jury will be convened on Jan. 2 to examine the death of a 23-year-old Scottsbluff man.
Corey Green died Friday, Nov. 23, at Regional West Medical Center.
Scotts Bluff County Attorney Dave Eubanks says three investigators have been named to look at the case: Lt. Brian Eads of the Nebraska State Patrol, James Jackson of the Gering Police Department and Matt Holcomb of the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Department.
Green had been arrested by Scottsbluff Police on Nov. 23 on a warrant and transported to the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center. Eubanks said Green suffered a medical condition and was transported to the hospital where he died.
Nebraska state statute requires that a grand jury be convened to examine any death of an individual while being apprehended or in custody.
