It’s Demolition Day, too, in DeKalb
A crew from R&B Services of DeKalb finishes leveling the site of a former two-story house Tuesday morning at 832 E. Lincoln Highway, one of three city-owned residential properties officials have decided to raze. R&B Services won the contract to demolish the buildings with a bid of $79,417.
The house on East Lincoln Highway, which has been coming down since Monday, along with another house at 1108 Market Street, are both in Tax Increment Financing District 1. The other property is at 402 Gurler St.
The DeKalb City Council approved the demolition of the buildings during its Aug. 13 meeting, while electing to hold off on knocking down two other buildings it owns, and which were originally considered in the project, at 524 Clifford St. and 715 N. 11th St.
