Bank of the Valley buys Sue’s Just a Buck building
Jason Lavicky, president and chief lending officer of Bank of the Valley in David City, confirmed the bank’s purchase of the building at 502 N. 5th St. in downtown David City.
The property formally was home to the variety store Sue’s Just a Buck, which Sue Vidlak ran 15 years before retiring in the summer of 2017.
The building was built in 1905 and was once home to number of locations, such as Kaiser Frazer car dealership, a Hinky Dinky grocery store, Montag’s Carpet and Rasmussen Sports Shop. Lavicky would not confirm what the bank had planned for the property, but said it would be ready to make an announcement within the next couple of weeks.
