Woman arrested on drug charges
IRONTON — The following information was compiled from Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office reports:
DRUG ARREST: Following a traffic stop, a sheriff’s deputy arrested Laurisha J. Nelson, 31, of the 2500 block of S. 8th Street, Ironton, on charges of trafficking in heroin and possession of drugs and transported her to jail.
DRUG ARRESTS: A sheriff’s deputy arrested Eugene Carl Likens, 34, of Proctorville on an escape warrant. He also was charged with possession of drugs. Two other people in a hotel room, Destanie R. Lockhart, 26, of the 900 block of 9th Street West, Huntington, and Stevie N. Farnsworth, 20, of the 800 block of Washington Ave., Huntington, also were arrested on felony drug charges. All three were transported to jail.
DRUG ARRESTS: Following a traffic stop for no lights on a license plate, a sheriff’s deputy arrested a 19-year-old South Point man and a 22-year-old Coal Grove man on misdemeanor charges of possession of drugs and possession of marijuana and transported them to jail.
BREAKING AND ENTERING: A 45-year-old Chesapeake area man reported Saturday that someone broke into a house he is remodeling and stole a security device valued at $1,000. Damages to a window were estimated at $259.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: A 38-year-old Ironton woman reported last week that her boyfriend hit her several times. She was transported to St. Mary’s in Ironton for treatment. The man left before authorities arrived.
DRUG ARREST: Responding to a call about a shoplifter at Wal-Mart, a sheriff’s deputy arrested a 23-year-old Ironton woman on misdemeanor charges of theft and possession of drugs and transported her to jail.
