Man dressed as ‘Cat in the Hat’ suspected of provoking bar melee
Officers arrived at a local bar Halloween night after receiving reports of a fight. They went to a pub on Acoma Boulevard, the scene of the crime, where the “Cat in the Hat”seemingly had too good of a time.
Lake Havasu City Police officers arrived at the bar at about 10 p.m. on Halloween night after receiving reports of a man dressed as the Dr. Seuss character striking several people. According to the police report, 30-year-old Havasu resident Brandon R. Servantes was intoxicated and belligerent toward employees at the establishment when he was asked to leave after insulting the female bartender.
After allegedly refusing to leave, an argument began between Servantes and several men at the bar. Servantes allegedly exited the bar and attempted to physically fight several of the men in the establishment’s parking lot. In the police report, however, Servantes said he was acting in his own self-defense.
Servantes was transported to Lake Havasu City Jail on charges of disorderly conduct, and was administered a breath test. According to the police report, Servantes’ blood-alcohol concentration was registered as 0.32 at the time of his arrest.
