Husker LB Young to play in NFLPA Collegiate Bowl; former NU DB Jones promoted to Cardinals
Nebraska senior inside linebacker Dedrick Young is taking part in one of the several postseason games dedicated to helping players get in front of professional scouts.
Young, a four-year starter for the Huskers, is going to take part in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on Jan. 19 in Los Angeles, the game’s official Twitter account announced Tuesday.

Young, listed at 6-foot-1 and 245 pounds, is sixth on NU’s career tackles list at 247 and will likely move into the top five in his final collegiate game Friday at Iowa.
Meanwhile, former Nebraska defensive back Chris Jones is slated to be promoted from the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad to its 53-man roster, per a report from NFL Network.
Jones went undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft, then spent most of the preseason with the Detroit Lions before getting released. He signed on to the Cardinals’ practice squad and has been there for the entire regular season.
Should Jones see any game action, it would be his first in the NFL.
