Driving under the influence
Stephen James King, 33, Frantz Road, Confluence, was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substances and five vehicle code violations. State police said King was driving 12 mph over the posted speed limit on Oden Street in Confluence and had no illumination on his registration plate on April 4. During the traffic stop, King “showed signs of impairment,” according to a probable-cause affidavit. A toxicology report indicated he had amphetamine, methamphetamine and benzoylecgonine in his system. His blood alcohol level was 0.039%, police said. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. June 6.
