Evelyn Akua Manubea Bannerman-Blankson, 48, of Kankakee, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday (Nov. 8, 2018) from her home, following a short illness.
A time for gathering of family and friends will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at the House of Prayer Apostolic Church. An additional time for visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, until the 10 a.m. funeral service, also at the church. Pastor Claudius Anderson will officiate. Interment will be in Mound Grove Garden of Memory, Kankakee.
Evelyn was born Sept. 16, 1970, in Kumasi, Ghana, the daughter of Michael Donkor and Agnes Abena Nsafoa Opoku. She was married to Reginald Owura Kobla Bannerman-Blankson on July 4, 1992, in Accra, Ghana.
She was employed as a teacher’s aide in Kankakee. She enjoyed taking pictures and listening to music. Evelyn was a member of House of Prayer Apostolic Church in Kankakee.
Surviving are her husband, of Kankakee; her sons, Emmanuel Bannerman-Blankson, Reginald F. Bannerman-Blankson Jr. and Michael A. Bannerman-Blankson, all of Kankakee; daughters, Osenkyerewa Banner-Blankson and Osorowa Bannerman-Blankson, both of Kankakee; and a sister, Heneriette (Philip) Bosompem Mensa, of Accra.
Preceding her in death were her father; and sister, Joyce Afia Dufie Okai.
