Police: Wilkes-Barre Twp. Man Broke Into Ex-girlfriend’s Home, Assaulted Her

HANOVER TWP. — A Wilkes-Barre Twp. man is accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home through a bathroom window and assaulting her on Sunday. Dennis Hynes, 24, of Reservoir Street, is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, simple assault, terroristic threats and criminal mischief. Police said Hynes broke into 229 Lee Park Ave. on Sunday, ransacked the place and attacked his ex-girlfriend when she arrived home around 7:30 a.m. The woman, Amanda Fuller, obtained a protection from abuse order against Hynes on Monday, claiming she broke up with Hynes three years ago because he was abusive. Magisterial District Judge Donald Whittaker arraigned Hynes on Monday morning and order him jailed in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 cash bail. — BOB KALINOWSKI
