Milford PD: Man drove under the influence, hit utility pole
MILFORD — A city man was taken into custody Wednesday on an active warrant for allegedly driving under the influence earlier this summer.
James Perugini, 56, of Boothbay Street in Milford, was charged with driving under the influence.
On Wednesday, police took Perugini into custody on an active warrant for his arrest. Police said he is accused of driving under the influence on July 5.
“His vehicle was involved in a one-car motor vehicle accident in which it had struck a utility pole on Milford Point Road near Benson Street,” police said. Police did not say if he was seriously injured in the crash.
Perugini was released on a promise to appear. He is expected in court on Oct. 16.
