Former St. Louis University student pleads guilty to assault
ST. LOUIS (AP) — A former St. Louis University student has pleaded guilty to assault charges in an attack on a fellow student.
As part of 20-year-old Colten Bonk’s plea agreement reached Monday, prosecutors dropped rape, sodomy and kidnapping charges.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Bonk will face 120 days of shock time in prison. If he successfully completes the program, he will be on probation for five years. Bonk will not have to register as a sex offender.
Bonk was accused of choking, biting a female student and improperly touching her on campus in May 2017.
Assistant Circuit Attorney Travis Partney said the woman and her family were satisfied with the plea deal.
Bonk was originally accused of choking, biting and raping the woman.
