Retail Executive Fortunoff Dies
OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (AP) _ Alan Fortunoff, president and chief executive of the Fortunoff chain of stores, has died at 67.
Fortunoff, who died at his home on Tuesday of complications from cancer, started out sweeping floors and helping customers at his family’s housewares shop in Brooklyn.

Fortunoff built the company into a chain of popular stores, opening outlets in New Jersey and on Fifth Avenue in New York.
