Walker top aide Neitzel to be replaced by PSC chair Nowak

February 15, 2018

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker’s top aide is stepping down from his position leading the Department of Administration and will be replaced by the current chair of the Public Service Commission.

Walker announced Thursday that Scott Neitzel was leaving as secretary of DOA on March 2, three years after taking the job. Neitzel was involved with negotiations that resulted in manufacturing giant Foxconn Technology Group announcing plans to build a display screen plant in southeastern Wisconsin.

He is being replaced by Ellen Nowak, currently chairwoman of the PSC. Walker appointed her to the PSC in 2011 and she has been chair since 2015.

Walker appointed Lon Roberts to replace Nowak as head of the PSC, which regulates the state’s public utilities. Roberts takes over on March 5.
