Cochran, Littleton Still Perfect

Littleton defeated Maynard, 13-1, in a Midland-Wachusett League cross-over softball game to improve its record to 13-0.

SOFTBALL —

LITTLETON 13, MAYNARD 1 — Hannah Cochran banged out 3 hits, including a home run and double, and drove in 3 runs while powering the Tigers past Maynard.

Julia Cochran chipped in with 2 doubles and 1 RBI, while Evie Tule notched 2 doubles and 2 RBI.

Meredith Landers had 2 hits with a double and 2 RBI.

Carolie Porell chipped in with 2 hits for Littleton.

Lexi Warner was the winning pitcher, notching 5 strikeouts in 4 innings.

WILMINGTON 9, STONEHAM 0 — Ally Moran tossed a 2-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts while pitching Wilmington past Stoneham in a Middlesex League game that was played on Tuesday.

Ryan Bailey ripped a triple and scored 3 runs, while Kayla Bourrell checked in with 2 hits, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.

Gianna Brunetto notched a hit and RBI, and Kacie Bourrell walked twice.

Bella Kieran had 2 hits with a triple and 3 RBI. Chase Andersen had 2 stolen bases, and Kiara Nadeau registered her first varsity hit.

WACHUSETT 15, GROTON-DUNSTABLE 2 — Wachusett Regional defeated Groton-Dunstable in a Midland-Wachusett League game.

Emma Wilson (double) and Cassidy Heulings each had a hit and scored a run for the Crusaders.

Whitney Ellis smacked a 2-run single.

SOUHEGAN 8, PELHAM 0 — Abbey Bevens had 2 hits and played well defensively, but the Pythons fell. Ashley Phillips had a single for Pelham (8-7), which hosts John Stark on Friday in its regular-season finale.

BISHOP GUERTIN 12, TIMBERLANE 2 — The Cardinals ended their season on a high note, beating the Owls.

Freshman Meghan Davey went the distance in the circle. She was supported by some solid defense, including some stellar plays by junior center fielder Taylor Cushion, who went 3-for-4. Sophomore Stephanie Coulombe and senior Ania Kwiecinski also had 2 hits apiece for the home team.

TYNGSBORO 5, LUNENBURG 1 — Amanda Pare went the distance for the Tigers, striking out 6 batters.

Rachael Souza led the offense by going 2-for-3 with an RBI and double. Grace Chartier went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Maddy Boville went 2-for-2 with an RBI.

OAKMONT 19, NORTH MIDDLESEX 1 — The Patriots were easily defeated in Townsend by a strong Oakmont (11-2) squad. For North Middlesex (4-8), Rachel Brouillette scored the lone run and went 2-for-3.

BASEBALL —

ARLINGTON CATHOLIC 2, LOWELL CATHOLIC 1 — Arlington Catholic edged Lowell Catholic in a Catholic Central League cross-over game.

Nate Sayer (1 RBI) and Kyle DeRoma each ripped a double.

Kevin Galligani pitched well for Lowell Catholic. Galligani didn’t allow an earned run while scattering 5 hits in 5 innings of work on the mound.

NASHOBA 13, LYNN TECH 12 — Sean Archer made a game-saving catch on a line drive to third with the tying and go-ahead runs on second and third, respectively. He doubled the runner off third base.

Brandon Gauthier and Archer swung hot bats. Both went 2-for-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. Jim Fitzgerald ripped a double and had 2 RBI for Nashoba (5-11). DJ Fraser went 1-for-3 with 2 RBI.

WOBURN 7, BILLERICA 6 — Woburn scored 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning while walking off with a non-league win.

Ryan Murphy pitched well for Billerica. Murphy only gave up 2 hits, didn’t allow an earned run and struck out 8 in 5 innings. Joe Dufour paced the offense with 2 hits, including a double, and 4 RBI. Bert Carreno was 3-for-3 at the plate with a run scored.

Matt Lewitzky had 2 hits with a triple, 2 runs scored and 1 stolen base for the Indians (3-15).

TYNGSBORO 5, LUNENBURG 1 — Brandon St. Gelais tossed a 5-hitter with 7 strikeouts and didn’t allow an earned run while pitching Tyngsboro past Lunenburg.

Tyler Hapenny led the way on offense for the Tigers with 1 hit, 2 RBI and 1 run scored. JT Shaffer and Phil Sutherland had 1 hit and 1 RBI each.

DOVER 5, ALVIRNE 0 — Jackson McCoy paced Dover’s offense with 2 hits and 2 RBI.

OAKMONT 14, NORTH MIDDLESEX 3 — The Patriots were hanging around until Oakmont produced a six-run sixth inning.

Joe Murphy banged out 2 hits and drove in a run for North Middlesex (1-12, 1-6 Mid-Wach C).

LOWELL 12, LOWELL CATHOLIC 0 — Abby Brown tossed a 3-hit shutout in this non-league win for Lowell (17-0).

Molly Barrett led the Red Raiders’ offense with 3 hits and 3 RBI. Meara McPhee had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Nikky Yrrizarry had a hit and knocked in 3 runs, while Mia Ly notched 1 hit and 2 RBI.
