Man gets 32 years in sexual assault of teenage girl
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A man accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl after his release from prison on similar charges has been sentenced to 32 years in prison.
WMUR-TV reports 35-year-old Kurt Carpentino, of Manchester, was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Concord. Carpentino was convicted in June of transporting a minor across state lines for criminal sexual activity.
Prosecutors say Carpentino befriended a 14-year-old girl and “manipulated her to get her to do what he wanted.” Authorities say Carpentino took the victim to an abandoned motel in Vermont and sexually assaulted her.
According to officials, Carpentino was convicted of sexually assaulting minors in 2003 and was released from prison on 2016.
A judge recommended Carpentino undergo sexual offender treatment and mental health counseling.
