Ste Jeanne D’Arc Elects Student Council Representatives

LOWELL -- Ste Jeanne d’Arc School recently inducted new Student Council leaders and representatives at a ceremony held at St. Rita’s Church.

The students were elected by their peers to address issues of concern and to organize student events and activities. The Student Council plays an important role at Ste Jeanne d’Arc.

The guest speaker at the induction ceremony was City Manager Eileen Donoghue, who has also served as a city councilor and a state senator. Donoghue is committed to improving the lives of citizens in the local community by sharing her professional skills and seeking to do good for others by giving of her time to public service. All the qualities of leadership she spoke about are those that Student Council members are eager to emulate.

Donoghue ended with a quote from former President Barack Obama: “One voice can change a room. You are that voice.”

Students elected to leadership positions in the Student Council are Ranjana Ramesh, president; Breanna Rosario, vice president; Sophia Cunha, treasurer; Kailee McDonald, secretary; and Lauren Woodhead, public-relations coordinator.

Fourth-grade representatives are Ismah Sengendo, Kristen Woodhead and Rushi Patel.

Fifth-grade representatives are Roderick Owusu-Afriyie, Mallory Boisvert, Sydney Nelson, Courtney Beaudoin, Satvi Mahesh and Moses Mwaura.

Sixth-grade representatives are Tithi Patel, Ava May Casaubon and Xavier Boateng.

Seventh-grade representatives are Galen Goulette, Jenna Mwangi, Roy Arthur, Joseph D’Arcangelo, Gracie Bourget, Evan Pappas, Avery Tucker and Navin Ramesh.

Eighth-grade representatives are Brayden Cole, Jonelle Echendu, Tia Bhardwaj, Ava Grzymski are Elizabeth Hughes.
