Cent. Connecticut St. 96, North Adams 58

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) _ Bill Langheim scored 24 points to help Central Connecticut defeat North Adams, 96-58, on Monday.

Central (2-2) jumped out to a 50-27 halftime lead. Langheim dropped in 10 of Central’s first 27 points to give the team a 16-point cushion with 8:25 remaining in the first half.

Sophomore Keith Closs finished the game with 15 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots.

``There is one thing I know about this team, we play hard,″ said Central coach Mark Adams. ``We played hard from our starters down to our last guys off the bench.″

Darren Brown scored 12 points for the Mohawks who dropped to 2-4 on the season.

Josh Thieien finished with 10 points for North Adams.
