Koudelka of Czech Republic wins 4th ski jump World Cup event
SAPPORO, Japan (AP) — Roman Koudelka of the Czech Republic earned his fourth ski jump World Cup win of the season on Sunday.
Koudelka had jumps of 133 and 132 meters for 282.9 points to finish ahead of Poland’s Kamil Stoch, who was second with 278 points after jumps of 140 and 125.5.
Peter Prevc of Slovenia, who won Saturday’s event, earned 277.3 points from jumps of 135 and 125 meters to finish third.
Overall World Cup leader Stefan Kraft of Austria was fourth with 270 points while Japanese veteran Noriaki Kasai finished eighth.
Kraft improved to 1,007 points, 83 ahead of Prevc. Austria’s Michael Hayboeck is third in the standings with 875 followed by Koudelka, who moved into fourth place with 816.
The next event is in Willigen, Germany, on Jan. 30.
