Camera gets only robber’s knees
Surveillance cameras at the Partners First Federal Credit Union on Riviera Court off North Clinton Street did not capture usable images of the man wearing a clown mask who shot into the locked bank, police said Friday.
At 11:40 a.m. Thursday, as the would-be robber approached the credit union’s front door, inside employees saw him and rushed to lock the doors.
When the robber couldn’t get in, he fired three shots into the interior lobby door.
The employees and customers hit the floor and the robber didn’t injure anyone, Sgt. Jim Seay, Fort Wayne Police Department spokesman, said at the scene Thursday.
The camera angle was off and captured the suspect from the knees down, Seay said in a news release Friday.
Detectives were working Friday with surrounding businesses to see if any of those cameras captured identifying photos, Seay said.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.
