Local man charged with drug possession

HUNTINGTON — The following information was provided by police reports filed in the Cabell County Sheriff’s Office:

NARCOTICS: A Huntington man was arrested Saturday at the Motel 6 on U.S. 60 after police allegedly found several drugs in distribution amounts on his person.

Anthony Bernard Archie, 50, was jailed at 11:20 p.m. Saturday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with possession with intent to deliver. Bond was set at $125,000 cash-only.

Archie was allegedly found to be in possession of 3.1 grams of heroin, 8.5 grams of crack cocaine, 18.6 grams of crystal meth, 36 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, a meth pipe and $2,560 cash. The street value of the drugs is estimated at $3,345.

The drugs were found in a shopping bag that Archie alleged he had stolen from a vehicle that police had observed him exiting and that he was unaware of the contents during questioning.

The Huntington Police Department listed 26 new incident reports in the 24-hour period ending at 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to the printout released by the department. However, the individual police reports were not made available, so these are the only known details:

Shoplifting — first and second offense, 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, 700 block of 6th Avenue.

Possession of contraband, possession of marijuana, 12:17 a.m. Wednesday, West 16th Street and Madison Avenue.

Destruction of property — misdemeanor, 9 p.m. Tuesday, 800 block of Virginia Avenue.

Possession of contraband, possession of a controlled substance, warrant service/execution, 12:46 a.m. Wednesday, West 14th Street and West 5th Avenue.

Petit larceny, burglary, entry of dwelling or outhouse, 9 a.m. Tuesday, 900 block of 8th Street.

Possession of a controlled substance, receiving or transferring stolen vehicle, warrant service/execution, 7:53 p.m. Tuesday, West 3rd Street and West 5th Avenue.

Possession of a controlled substance, obstructing an officer, fleeing from officer, no vehicle, warrant service/execution, 7:42 p.m. Tuesday, 2700 block of Marcum Terrace.

Counterfeiting, 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, 2800 block of Overlook Drive.

Fleeing in vehicle, fleeing from officer, no vehicle, possession with intent/delivery of a controlled substance, noon Tuesday, 200 block of West 8th Avenue rear.

Grand larceny, burglary, entry of dwelling or outhouse, 10 a.m. July 25, 1900 block of Buffington Avenue.

Leaving the scene — property damage, suspended or revoked license — DUI first and second offense, DUI third offense, 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, 6th Avenue and 8th Street.

Destruction of property — felony, 4:52 p.m. Monday, 1300 block of Hal Greer Boulevard.

Possession of a controlled substance, 5:01 a.m. Tuesday, 14th Street and 3rd Avenue.

Assisting outside agency, 2:32 a.m. Tuesday, 4600 block of U.S. 60.

Trespassing, 3:18 a.m. Tuesday, 1300 block of Hal Greer Boulevard.

Paraphernalia, 1:47 a.m. Tuesday, West 5th Street and 8th Avenue.

The following information was provided by booking records kept at Western Regional Jail:

Jimmie Lee Holbrook Jr., 37, was jailed at 3 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with failure to appear and possession of a controlled substance. Bond was not set.

Randy Allen Adkins, 45, was jailed at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities in Cabell County jailed him on an indictment. Bond was not set.

Clyde Franklin Chafin III, 26, was jailed at 9 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and obstructing. Bond was $55,000.

Noah Thomas Eskridge, 28, was jailed at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities in Cabell County charged him with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Bond was not set.

Carol Augusta Tomblin, 38, was jailed at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities in Wayne County charged her with being a fugitive from justice. Bond was not set.
