Passengers Injured on Cruise Ship
LONDON (AP) _ A huge wave shattered windows on a cruise liner in the Atlantic, flooding cabins and injuring several passengers, the shipping company said.
The 76,000 ton liner Oriana was undergoing repairs in mid-ocean after the accident on Thursday, the company said.
The ship, carrying 1,525 passengers and 800 crew from New York to the English port of Southampton, ran into gale-force winds about 600 mileswest of Ireland, said the company, P&Q.
A wave about 40 feet high smashed through toughened glass in six cabins, causing flooding inside. Three passengers suffered minor injuries from broken glass and four people had to be treated for shock, P&O said.
