Orchids and Onions: Thursday, August 23, 2018

August 24, 2018

Another beautiful day in Havasu...

Onions to not supporting our city. If everything here is doing so well and is so peachy, according to one of our candidates, then why does every city manager and mayor leave town as soon as their term is up? Seems like the proverbial sinking ship syndrome.

Orchids to the folks who can bring back the Miss Havasu pageant. Senior women deservedly get the spotlight with their annual pageant, but what about the younger set? We could have a “Little Miss” and a “Miss.” Any takers?

Orchids to sales associate Lydia at JC Penney! She was a great help and went way above and beyond to help me. Your act of kindness was greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten!

Orchids to the gals at the radiology desk at HRMC for ease in scheduling appointments and obtaining discs. You’re also always friendly and concerned about my comfort. Thank you.

Orchids to Monica and Pat and the people at the Havasu VA Clinic. Do not know what we would do without you. You are truly a blessing. Jim.

Orchids to Patty at Circle K on Industrial. You are always cheerful, sweet super-efficient in getting me in and out of there quickly in the morning on my way to work.

Onions to not having food service on the ASU campus. Such a hokey situation. Students deserve better.

Orchids to cool mornings. We have missed you terribly.

Orchids to Shoreline Plumbing; the best in town! Rick, Dan, and Robert are excellent in this profession. They were a great team and we are satisfied with their work. Thanks so much, guys! D and F

Onions to the school district/board. Looking at the test scores, maybe you should focus on improving the academic levels and not worry so much about the dress code.

Orchids to Dr. Powar and her staff for their efforts in helping with my lower back pain over the past year. Much appreciated.

Onions to the city for beginning roadwork at 7:30 in the morning on one of the busiest roadways.

Orchids to the new president for having a better plan he intends to put into place. Getting into a war with the best volunteer you have you put at risk over 14,000 school children who receive our benefits. Good luck!

Orchids to the wonderful, helpful, friendly, very thoughtful volunteers at early voting at the library.
