HUNTINGTON — An Ohio man was arrested Thursday after he was accused of shooting a man during an argument outside of a medical office.

Geoffrey Scott Preece, 45, of Crown City, Ohio, was arrested Thursday and charged with malicious wounding by the Huntington Police Department.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court, after talking to witnesses police alleged Preece had been fighting with gunshot victim Jacolbey Bills outside of Med Express in the 4100 block of U.S. 60 Thursday evening.

At one point during the argument, Preece allegedly went inside to the lobby of the facility, retrieved a firearm a woman he was there with had in her purse, and returned outside, where he discharged at least one bullet that struck Bills in an unknown location.

Bills was taken from the scene to the hospital in a private vehicle.

According to the Western Regional Jail website, Preece was not listed as an inmate Friday morning.
