House destroyed, dog killed when fire breaks out at Orem home

A fire broke out Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018 in a home near 600 South and 750 West in Orem.

The Orem Fire Department responded to a house fire in Orem in the area of 600 South and 750 West on Wednesday afternoon.

The house was fully engulfed in flames and is considered a total loss, according to Orem Fire Department public information officer Battalion Chief Ryan Peterson.

No people were injured, though one family dog did die in the fire. The home had an estimated value of $250,000, Peterson said.

Investigators are on scene to determine the cause of the fire. At least three people were displaced.
