Mom, 2 Kids Found Dead in Mo. Pond

February 6, 1998

VICHY, Mo. (AP) _ A woman and two children were found dead in a farm pond, and authorities charged two teen-agers with murder and were attempting to find them.

The victims were identified as Susan Brouk, 36, an electronics plant worker; her daughter, Adrian Brouk, 12; and her son, Kyle Brouk, 9. They were found dead Thursday in a pond about a half-mile from their home after relatives and friends reported they had been unseen since Saturday.

Authorities would not reveal how the three were believed to have been killed or say what led them to the suspects. Autopsies were planned for later today.

Maries County Sheriff Doug Nitale said there was no apparent motive for the killings, but that the Brouk’s television and VCR had been stolen.

Mark Anthony Christeson, 18, and Jesse Carter, 17, both of Vichy, were charged in warrants with three counts each of first-degree murder and one count each of armed criminal action, the state patrol said. They were last seen Vichy on Sunday, DiNatale said.

``They’re considered armed and very dangerous. ... We don’t have any idea where they’re headed,″ DiNatale said today.

They were believed to be driving Ms. Brouk’s tan 1984 Ford Bronco II, the patrol said. The Bronco had a sun visor over the windshield and was last known to have temporary plates, DiNatale said.

Vichy is located in central Missouri, about 40 miles southeast of Jefferson City.
