SHERIDAN COUNTY FATALITY — Authorities say a 15-year-old boy died after losing control of the pickup truck he was driving in the northern Nebraska Panhandle.

FRAUDULENT CHECKS-FORMER PLAYER — A former University of Nebraska football player is scheduled to go on trial next week on charges that he cashed fraudulent checks at casinos in western Iowa.

OFFICER SHOT-OMAHA — Omaha police have released the name of an officer who was shot during a traffic stop.
