SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Former White House press secretary Mike McCurry is joining the Internet gold rush.
McCurry, 46, will become chief executive of Grassroots.com, a Web site that provides services for political activists.
``I’m a big believer that the Internet is going to reinvent politics,″ McCurry said. ``Instead of citizens screaming at their television, they can do something online.″
McCurry joined the San Francisco-based company’s board of directors in July. He replaces interim chief executive and co-founder Craig Johnson.
McCurry left President Clinton’s press office in 1998 and became president of Public Strategies Group, a communications consulting firm.
