Mosquito fogging set to take place
NORFOLK - The Norfolk Health Division will be conducting mosquito fogging in residential areas of Norfolk over the coming week.
Health Official John Kouba says this is done to help control the mosquito population.
Kouba says the rainfall this year has produced a mosquito population where control is appropriate.
He says the fogging takes place in evening from 7:30 to 10:30 weather permitting.
Kouba says when fogging there needs to be a slight breeze that’s no more than ten miles per hour.
He says residents are also reminded to avoid mosquito bites as much as possible.
He says when in areas where mosquitoes are present use repellent products that contain DEET.
