The Atrium Yoga Studio celebrates its grand opening

December 2, 2018

An atrium is both a chamber in the heart and a space that allows light in. With that in mind, The Atrium Yoga Studio was created as a place to gather, illuminate, energize, and heal.

The Atrium Yoga Studio, located in the heart of River Oaks at 3733 Westheimer Road will celebrate its Grand Opening on December 1 and 2 with yoga classes, free juices and coffee, massages, special promotions and other treats.

When you walk into The Atrium Yoga Studio, your heart just might skip a beat. And by the time you leave, you’ll feel even more alive. Expansive windows, lofted ceilings and a warmth of acceptance, possibility and joy will embrace you. The space is clean, modern and community- oriented.

Co-owners Madonna McManus and Jen Yuhas created this space to provide creative, intelligent and therapeutic yoga for the heart, from the heart. Offering experiences from group beginner

vinyasa and power vinyasa classes, to semi-private therapeutic and prenatal classes, their hope is to provide a variety of offerings that will benefit all students for a lifetime.

The Atrium Yoga Studio is also a proud partner of the Love Your Brain Foundation and the only studio in Houston offering yoga classes designed to support people who have been affected by traumatic brain injuries. Additionally, The Atrium is partnered with United Against Human Trafficking to offer a space for education, awareness and connection for those impacted.

Jen and Madonna first met in a yoga class in the winter of 2016. They instantly connected and a friendship was born. Fast-forward and that friendship led to the creation of The Atrium Yoga Studio.

Combined, Madonna and Jen have been teaching yoga for 19 years and practicing for 35. Their mutual love of this practice goes deep and wide. They are each committed to a daily yoga practice that includes practicing with a variety of teachers throughout Houston. They love the diversity and vibrance of the Houston yoga community, and seek to learn from and contribute to its abundance.

Jen says: “It doesn’t matter your job title, the size of your yoga pants, whether you are married, divorced or forever single, or if it’s your first or 500th class, we all arrive at the same place.

Humbly taking off our shoes, rolling out our yoga mats, and moving and breathing together in hopes of a more meaning expression of life. That’s just one reason why yoga is magic. That’s how it connects us.”

Madonna says: “The practice of yoga gives us the opportunity to tap into what matters most: our hearts and who they beat for. Each time we practice, whether it’s our worst day or our best, we have the potential to make a difference. We have the chance to discover our inner workings. We have the ability to shift our perspective and become our best and most loving selves. We have the ultimate power of making the world around us a better place with each

and every breath. All we have to do is show up and do the work to discover and realize our life’s purpose.
