Scottville: Water, sewer rate hike expected
SCOTTVILLE — Water and sewer rates could be on the rise for Scottville residents once again following an increase in charges on water coming in from the City of Ludington and in preparation for two upcoming projects involving the city’s water and sewer system.
City commissioners will vote on a 4.5-percent water rate increase and a 10-percent sewer rate increase during Monday’s commission meeting at city hall. City Manager Amy Williams outlined the reasons for the higher charge in the notes for that meeting.
“I received correspondence from the City of Ludington that they would be once again increasing our water and sewer rates for the upcoming year,” Williams wrote. “(In addition to) these increases I also had to factor in two upcoming projects in our sewer fund when considering at what rate to set fees for 2019.”
