Woman likely died several days before body left on Cleveland sidewalk, police say

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Investigators believe a woman died several days before her body was left on a sidewalk late Wednesday in Cleveland’s Union-Miles neighborhood.

There were no obvious signs of violence on the body found about 9:20 p.m. on Booth Avenue near East 86th Street, police said.

The body’s state of decomposition suggests the woman died several days ago. Her body was likely conveyed to Booth Avenue from another location, police said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released her name.

The cause of death has not been determined. The woman’s body was taken to the medical examiner’s office for testing.

Cleveland homicide detectives are investigating the death, police said.
