Nightclub’s 25-foot shark finds new home at restaurant
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island seafood restaurant Flo’s Clam Shack says it’s going “to need a bigger Shack” after purchasing the 25-foot shark statue that once sat atop a Cranston nightclub.
The restaurant said on Facebook this week that the shark from the Mardi Gras Multi Club is “coming to Flo’s.” It was listed for sale last week on Facebook Marketplace for $1,000.
WPRI-TV reports that the shark will be on display at the restaurant’s Middletown location in time for the opening of the 2018 season.
The club closed its doors Nov. 30 after serving as a popular nightspot for more than 28 years. Its multicolored palm trees will be the next items to hit the auction block.
