Slight chance for storms today; chance for severe storms Tuesday

September 24, 2018

There’s a slight chance for thunderstorms today in most of northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio, and a slight risk for severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night, the National Weather Service said.

Locally heavy rainfall will be the primary threat, mainly across northwest Ohio, the weather service said in its outlook.

On Tuesday, damaging winds and locally heavy rain appear to be the primary threats, the outlook said.

In an area including Mercer County, Ohio, the potential exists for heavy rain Tuesday and Wednesday, with several rounds of showers and thunderstorms expected, the weather service said. It said some of the heavy rain may lead to flooding.

Strong to severe storms will be possible there late Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night ahead of a cold front, with damaging winds the main threat, the weather service said.
