Feldschau takes oath for Beaumont City Council

Staff WriterMay 15, 2019

Randy Feldschau was sworn in Monday to serve as one of two Beaumont At-Large City Council members.

The 57-year-old senior pastor was the only new council member to be sworn in this week.

Feldschau will take over for former Council member William “Bill” Sam Sr., who was appointed to fill the unexpired term of longtime Council member Gethrel “Get” Williams-Wright after she died in 2018.

Sam ran for re-election but got a bit more than 19 percent of the votes, compared to Feldschau’s 20.2 percent and incumbent W.L. Pate Jr’s 22.5 percent.

While campaigning, Feldschau advocated for being more aggressive at pursuing businesses and offering tax incentives, among other goals.
