Hot, humid and stormy to kick off weekend in Northeast Ohio: Weather forecast

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Sorry, Northeast Ohioans. But this weekend might not be the dry, sunny and temperate weekend we’ve been waiting for. Instead, it will start on a hot note and rather stormy. Sunday may make up for the wet start, however.

Friday, temperatures will once again warm to near 80 degrees, but with humid air, that will feel very uncomfortable and sticky. The day will start rain-free and only partly cloudy, but as a storm system inches closer throughout the day, it could begin to trigger scattered storms sometime Friday night. Not good news if you’re planning to head to the Flats for the Cavs watch party.

For Saturday, the low-pressure center will track slowly across the area, and therefore will continue the scattered storm chance all the way into that night. As temperatures hit the upper 70s again, and the humidity sticks around, it will be another icky day.

Sunday’s weather will redeem the stormy start to the weekend. Instead of clouds and rain, Northeast Ohio is looking dry and partly sunny. As winds shift and blow in from the northeast, things will cool slightly, although highs will still reach the 70s.
