Police ID mom, 2-year-old son found slain in parking lot
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Police in Little Rock say a mother and her 2-year-old son who were found on the ground in a parking lot died of apparent gunshot wounds.
Little Rock police spokesman Eric Barnes said Friday that an infant was also found in a car next to the victims. The child was taken to a hospital for an examination after the bodies were discovered early Thursday morning at an apartment complex.
Authorities haven’t announced any arrests or identified a suspect. Barnes said in a statement that an investigation is ongoing.
The victims were identified as 23-year-old Jamika Lewis and her son, 2-year-old Ja’Shun Watson. Police didn’t say whether the child found in the car was related to the victims.
