Mary Hoard Art Show issues call for entries
FORT ATKINSON -- The Hoard Historical Museum in Fort Atkinson will again host the Mary Hoard Art Show.
Part one of the show, for students in kindergarten to eighth-grade, will run through Saturday. Part two, for high school and adult artists, will run from Sunday, April 28, through Saturday, May 11, at 2 p.m.
The opening reception for the second part of the show will take place April 28 from 1-3 p.m. The awards ceremony will be held April 28 at 2 p.m. as part of the opening reception.
High school students attending public and private schools and home-schools in the Fort Atkinson School District are eligible to enter one piece of artwork in the show. Adult artists who live, work, volunteer or take classes in communities and rural areas in Jefferson County are also eligible to enter the show.
Artwork registration for part two of the show will begin Tuesday and go until Saturday, April 20. The museum will be closed Friday, April 19. The fee to enter the show is $15 per adult artist.
Each adult artist may submit up to two entries. Adult artists are also encouraged to enter a third work in the “Local Significance” category. More information on this category as well as rules of display can be found at hoardmuseum.org.
Entry rules, forms and registration dates are available for high school and adult artists at the museum and at the Nasco Store in Fort Atkinson. Additional entry materials are available for adult artists at the MATC-Fort Atkinson campus, Jefferson County public libraries and the Cambridge Community Library.
