North Carolina man charged after killing 2 pedestrians
KENANSVILLE, N.C. (AP) — The North Carolina Highway Patrol has filed charges against a driver who hit and killed two people.
News sources report the patrol says multiple charges were filed against 36-year-old Alfonso Santes of Albertson, including death by motor vehicle and driving while impaired.
The patrol says 44-year-old Jeanie Jenkins and 49-year-old Horace Pittman were walking on a Duplin County road Saturday night when the pickup truck Santes was driving crossed the center line and struck them.
It wasn’t immediately known on Monday whether Santes has an attorney.
