Well, as it turns out, there’s at least one person who isn’t a fan of the new San Antonio restaurant formerly known as Pollos Asados Don Carbon.
The new restaurant near the intersection of Culebra and Fredericksburg has earned plenty of praise from the Express-News, first in a positive Just a Taste review followed quickly by a second-place ranking on our list of the city’s best pollos asados providers.

Unfortunately for owner Alfredo Garza, all that attention stuck in the craw of a similarly named Don Carbon restaurant in El Paso. Garza was quickly slapped with a lawsuit.
Fortunately for all of us, a bird by any other name would taste as sweet. Garza’s restaurant is now doing business as Al Carbon Pollos Asados. Frankly, we don’t care what he calls it as long as he keeps the coop open.
