App to help users keep track of forests

March 7, 2019

BULLHEAD CITY — Arizona’s forests are a popular destination for residents of the Grand Canyon State and visitors alike.

In order for those who are going to the forests to be more prepared, the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management has released a new mobile phone application that provides local fire and forestry information to the users.

The free to download phone application offers wildland fire information, fire restrictions and details, fire prevention tips, Office of the State Fire Marshal’s plans and payment portal as well as health-related information.

The app also will let its users connect to the departments social media pages, ask questions, submit tips and access other information.

When the app is installed, users will be able to allow notifications, which send critical information, such as fires near a particular area, fire restrictions and forest health concerns, directly to the phone.

Through a prepared statement, Tiffany Davila, public affairs officer for the Department of Forestry and Fire Management, said, “The Department of Forestry and Fire Management is excited to be able to use this technology to serve our residents. The mobile application offers another outlet for pertinent, often times urgent information and connects users to real-time information at their fingertips.”

To download the application, search Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire on the iPhone App Store or Google Play for Android users.
